We attempted to find the wildlife mgmt area by Google maps but it took us to the industrial site on the other side. Best way to access it is to go to Ijams nature center.

Although the peak bloom had passed (late July) and the trails were almost empty, we persisted a bit further along the paths and found many fields of sunflowers still in glory. Many wonderful photo ops along the path and in the fields.

We went recently to see the biannual sunflowers (over 60 acres). They were stunning, and could be stinging, if you disturbed the millions of bees. There are numerous trails through this area, which is near the better-known Ijams Nature Center. You can stop at Ijams...More

My daughter and her fiance took my hubby and I to see the sunflowers. Absolutely worth the drive and the walk.
