To see all the area attractions, we used the Comfort Suites on North Elk Vale Rd. Only 15 minutes from the airport. Most of the things you will want to see are 45 minutes to 1 hour away. Where ever you go it's a beautiful...More

Rapid city is just very ok, even though the close proximity to Rushmore is awesome, Rapid city itself is kind of dirty feeling, and downright scary in parts, after sundown

Loved visiting the downtown area with my husband for a date night. My mother-in-law never takes us to this area and I'm so glad I made the push to make it happen. Lively, art work on the sidewalks and corners. Unique art in the alleys.

During the first part of our visit, weather prevented us from visiting some of the better known outdoor sites. What a jewel downtown Rapid City turned out to be! Compact, with most of the places to visit within just a few square blocks. Interesting museums...More

Each street corner downtown had a life-sized statue of a former U.S. President and there were good restaurants and pubs. A very fun place to walk around. The locals were very friendly and ready with advise.

Fun place to wander around and take in the sights and sounds of Rapid City. We love all of the statues around town. We stumbled upon some live music and that was fun!

We especially loved Art Alley, a block of store behinds painted with graffiti. Wonderful, creative place. The stores are great too. Lots of Native American art.
