We've been to Norway and never got to see the interior of one of these. Well, we found out we didn't miss much. An inspection of the exterior is worthwhile however if you have never seen this style of building before. Their "museum" is a...More

Beautiful church. Interesting architecture. Liked that it still hosts a service and weddings. They have a surprise walking path behind the church that features statues and seating for reflection. Nice old cabin to see how life was in the 1800s. Nice little gift shop.

We were driving through and just happened upon this hidden gem. A beautiful reminder of our ancestors talents and skills. The Chapel is breathtaking. So beautiful and peaceful I could have sat there lots longer. And for those on a tight budget, it's free. Unless...More

This is a beautiful wooden church which resonates a simple faith from times past. A recording shares the story and meaning of the construction. There is a prayer walk as well for those desiring some quiet meditation. Well worth the visit.

We stumbled upon this rare gem during our annual girls road trip. We arrived late in the afternoon and there was only one other car. We were all struck by the amazing architecture and beautiful, but short meditation walk.

We loved visiting this little chapel on a beautiful Sunday morning. Worth a stop while in Rapid City. We stayed for less than an hour.

I love churches and love to check them out. This is not like any church you will see. There is no fee, but they ask for donations. There is a small museum and a small gift shop. This is a functioning church so you may...More

There are ramped sidewalks leading to and into the chapel, gift shop, and museum. The slopes are rather steep in some places, due to the nature of the terrain. To access the restrooms, there is one step up.
