A brand new building in 2015, amazing views of the Open Cut, surface tours of the old Homestake Mine and the current operations of the Sanford Underground Research Facility! The exhibits are beautiful and scenery is amazing!

Truly worth a visit if you are in the area. Amazing how deep the tunnels go! Seeing into the open pit mine is a pretty unique experience.

The Homestake Mine talk was so interesting. Amazing how much information we learned about the mining. Went with a homeschool group so the kids had lots of questions. Staff very knowledgeable and made it fascinating for the kids.

Good and informative tour of the town of Lead SD. With the tour you’re able to get on the Sanford Lab property and enter the building that handles the elevators that take the scientists to 4800ft to the labs.More

We stopped here while traveling through Lead. Was surprised to find out that not only is it a mine but a underground Labortory that up to 1000 people work in everyday. Very interesting free visitor center. Great views of mine from visitor center! Worthwhile visit.More
