Small town feel (with resort prices). A wide variety of shops and culinary choices are all within walking distance. Easy access to Route 21 Bridge across the river if your heading towards Parris Island Marine Corp Base or Port Royal.

I love to spend time down on the water after meandering the shops. Families stroll the waterfront and kids play on the open areas. Couples sitting swinging and whispering quietly. It's a sweet thing.

Bay Street reminds me what I miss about Charleston 30 years ago. A lively town with small shops and restaurants owned by people, not mega corporations, and a friendly lot at that. You will find a coffee shop, outdoor outfitter, a yogurt store, an excellent...More

Bay Street in Beaufort, SC, is a very pleasant collection of shops and restaurants on a nice marina. The harbor is large enough to accommodate small cruise liners, one of which was docked when we arrived. Very pleasant stroll from our B&B, the Cuthbert House...More

This is adjacent to the Downtown Waterfront Park. Part of the annual Shrimp Festival takes place here. There is a public rest room here, if needed. The views of the boats are fantastic. There are swings, benches, and paths to enjoy while you are here....More

Best place to stroll and window shop. Make sure you go on a First Friday of the month. A few times a year, the street is closed to auto traffic.

Oyster Cay Collection on beautiful Bay Street in Beaufort SC is a delightful shopping treat! Unique furniture, home furnishings, jewelry, accessories, collectibles selected by the owner herself in Bali and other exotic locations — it’s well worth a visit to this museum-quality shop.

Bay Street is not very long but is very well kept up and clean. It goes from the "downtown" area out past some beautiful old homes to Bluff Park. There are some nice shops, restaurants, and art studios on Bay Street.

Beaufort is a lovely strolling spot --especially along the waterfront. Bay Street has some very nice shops/galleries and the historic buildings make it pleasurable.
