Stopped by while traveling by. There is a small deer park with fallow deer that you can buy food to feed, The deer all appear to be very well cared for and in good health. The store has a lot of souvenirs, toys, cold drinks, hunting equipment, clothing and other items. The gentleman behind the counter bragging about his security and camera system was kind of a turn off. I understand that you do have to have these items in place and sadly shop lifting is a problem but standing behind the counter acting like Billy bad*ss was really a disappointing.

Went in deer park on 8/1/20. Been going there for 50 years as deer park has been a staple in Potter County forever. I am 66 yrs old and in there with wife and daughter as well as other families and small children when the male owner slammed open the door and proceeded with the most profanity laden temper tantrum I have ever heard in a family gift shop. When I addressed him about it, the profanity started again which could be heard all over the store. Told him he wouldn't get any of my money and was told he didn't give a s***! I am done with that place. Be warned!

This was the first time we visited, and we really enjoyed browsing the store. There was something for everybody from toys and candy that would appeal to children to rather specialized gear. I especially admired the outstanding selection of Minnetonka moccasins. Perry ice-cream is always a treat, and it was fun watching the kids feed the fallow deer outside.
There were no unpleasant people working there. In fact, the staff was very patient with the ever-changing request of the small children. All in all we were glad to see that old-fashioned family friendly attractions like this one still exist.

I make this a must see every time I am in the area. They have the best merchandise, for the best prices. They is friendly Hometown kind of atmosphere everytime I visit. I feel like family. To add the cherry on top of this person's opinion; the deer are so awesome to feed and they are healthy breeding well taken care of.

I have been going to this place for 25 years. Will never return again while the new owners are there. So disappointed!! The gentlemen there was very rude! Horrible experience. And this comes from someone who never complains. I don’t recommend this place at all!!!

New owners are absolutely horrible! Rude, loud, obnoxious, drama-laden individuals. Used to love going here as a kid with my family. Saddened that these terrible people took over such a wonderful business.

This has been on my oldest daughter's favorite places to visit list since she was little, and, being that it is close, we visit about every year. This year we spent Mother's Day here and were greatly surprised at it's growth and more obviously in the process!

I've always loved the little shop, but it has REALLY stepped up! It's not your typical tourist store. Has a great line of Native American items, though most are made in China at this point.

As someone with Irish heritage, I love the addition of the Irish line of goods and would love to see it grow with AUTHENTIC items (these appear to be). The jewelry line has grown as well. They've added a few tables and now serve coffee, as well as sell some Irish blends!

Outside: last year there were about 5 grown deer. This year they have MANY, fawns and the owners have informed me that there are more on the way!

There is a tree gone now, and a bench beside it. LOVE the huge Adirondack chair out front and it made for some fantastic pictures.

So the summary of my review is this: the Deer Park has always been a favorite because of the animals. It has the potential, due to it's rural location to be a peaceful place to dine, spend some quality family time and enjoy your day. It has always been this, and there have been many recent improvements. To those who live local or city alike, it's an experience you really should have!

!! Do NOT recommend !!
!! Horrible owners!!
!! Not kid friendly!!

Grew up in the area, used to ride bike to the Deer Park when I was a kid. . . Thought I'd bring my kids to see and feed the deer. Heard the new owner was an ass. Went anyway..

Absolutely horrible customer service! If I could give negative stars I would!

So, we walked into the shop to buy a bag of dirt for the gem mine and the owner started yelling at us because according to him, on surveillance, he has one of the children (8yo boy) touching something in the giant sandbox near the gem mine that he wasn't supposed to touch? The owner demanded that we repremand that child immediately! Yelling at us!

I was like woah... then he started yelling about having a dog on the property and not reading the signs...

The dog never left the truck! It's a tiny lap dog used for emotional support and she was never in the store, or near the deer, or even in the grass! The owner of this place demanded paperwork and threatened to call the police. I said "Sir, your customer service is horrible! You should not be yelling at paying customers. We're just trying to buy a bag of dirt .."

Apparently this made the owner even more angry. He yelled at us again to get out!... So, I told the kid to put the dirt down and that we weren't giving these people any more of our money...

We exited the shop and he came out, taking photos of our vehical. Said he was calling the police, I encouraged him to follow thru.

So the police show up.. lets just say I hope this man loses this business and nobody goes there again. He doesn't deserve locals money let alone anyone from out of the area.

Appreciate the officer that responded and I'm so sorry y'all have to deal w this man. I'm sure from what I've heard from the locals they're all sick of him too.

Horrible human. Horrible customer service. Horrible hospitality. Horrible manners.

!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND A VISIT TO THIS PLACE !!!

ESPECIALLY if you have kids... Which it's supposed to be kid friendly?

Def NOT family, kid or pet friendly anymore!

Horrible owners!! Very rude and obnoxious! Yelled at me used profound language and cussed at me in front of my five and six-year-old sons as well as others who were feeding the deer and their children because my child was climbing on something he shouldn't have been. My child is five! This guy said I don't deal with f****** stupid!! Exact words to me. I don't believe he should be working with the public or anywhere near children there was no reason to be this rude and to get this mad because a 5-year-old was climbing on something. Why do you have a big open area that you can walk right into if you don't want people to get on to the equipment?!?
