This place is a little off the beaten path however a great place to stop in between New York city and Palmyra. The visitor center and tours are very well done and my kids enjoyed the the short walk.

I would contact the site directly. They do have a list of nearby accommodations that they send out when asked. Perhaps your rental property could be added to their list.

At least 2-3 hours would be good. There is a lot to see at the site, plus great media presentations.
