The 451 acre Shawnee Lake is beautiful. I had an opportunity to take a 2 hour "autumn paddle" as a result of pre-registration. A very worthwhile kayak experience provided by the park on a monthly basis (check website).

The Lake Shore Trail that surrounds Shawnee is a 3.5 mile flowing trail. It’s incredibly picturesque and makes the perfect trail for biking, hiking or just a romantic walk around the lake!!!
