About
Arcade Comedy Theater is downtown Pittsburgh’s destination for all things comedy. Opened in February 2013, the Arcade began as a storefront converted into an intimate 75-seat theater. For over four and a half years, the Arcade produced or presented over 1,000 shows and welcomed over 50,000 visitors to the Cultural District. In November 2017, the Arcade moved down the street to a newly renovated facility at 943 Liberty Avenue. The Arcade’s new home occupies one of the last vacant buildings in the Cultural District’s 900 block. It’s a major upgrade for the comedy community: the Arcade’s new home features two stages, a lounge, dedicated classroom space, and plenty of room to grow. Even as the Arcade expands into a brand new building, its goal is the same: to present fun, accessible, and affordable live comedy to the Pittsburgh community… every weekend.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We used Arcade staff for a corporate team building. It went very well. Our local managers and staff enjoyed an introduction to improv. We did games and exercises in our training room. From the inquiry to the follow up the Arcade was great to work with on this project.

You can’t go wrong when paying $12 for an improv show on a Saturday night! The comedians were all very different. Some excelled, others not so much...what a hard thing to do though!!! These guys all think so fast on their feet and seem to really enjoy what they do! Would I rather have heard the Orchestra play Rolling Stones songs? Sure!!! But who knew?

This place seems pretty nifty. It is an arcade themed comedy venue. They have free old school arcade games like Centipede and Ms. Pac-Man. Tickets are cheap. Also it is BYOB. You can bring a sixer of beer but not liquor. It is $5 for that privilege, or if you pre-order tickets on line, it is only $2 for the BYOB bracelet.

We went to the 9pm show upstairs which was a comedian/radio guy telling jokes in between the comedians. It was hit or miss as these small venues tend to be. The comedians had some really funny material combined with some jokes that just fell flat. Maybe they were injecting new material to try out.

Downstairs they do improv stuff, so if I ever get a chance to get back to Pittsburgh, I will give that a try.

I googled fun date night ideas and this came up as an option. It was within walking distance of our hotel and we saw it was byob so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. We attended the late night stand up show and had a great time! Our faces hurt by the end of the show from smiling and laughing the whole time. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Pittsburgh! Highly recommend!

This show and theater are hidden gems in downtown Pittsburgh. The Smallest Show is usually the 3rd Saturday at 7pm. A mixture of music, music, stories, audience participation, and always fun. I’m a regular fan but all feel part of the show.

The Gallery Crawl is a time to sample the cultural arts of Pittsburgh and this 30 minute improve presentation at the Arcade was wonderful. If I'm back in Pitt I'll be sure to come for a full show...the talent here is very good.

Intimate, very clean venue with great views from all seats. Welcome to bring your own wine. (They uncork it for you.) Prices are very reasonable and the comedy is top-notch. Thoroughly enjoyed the show and will make of point of going back.

I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Every comedian has been hilarious. It's byob and you pay $2 for bringing it into the theater. You can bring a small cooler of ice for beer if you want. Order tickets online for better pricing.

We really enjoyed the many acts on Friday night. Be sure to order tickets online to benefit with saving some $ on byob corkage. We will definitely return on our next visit!
