Excellent tour of the first floor rooms by our guide. Each room was created by a committee to represent an important era in that country, prior to the establishment of the University. Quirky and interesting, each room could have also been viewed on a self...More

The exterior of the building was absolutely beautiful. We are a Disney loving family, so the classrooms inside reminded us of the detail that we see at Epcot. Well worth the visit. Plan to spend 1-2 hours.

My 9 year old daughter and I spent nearly an hour touring this building! As Harry Potter fans, we were super excited to see how much like Hogwarts the Cathedral looked. We were going to skip this attraction, but after being told how interesting it...More

The uber-impressive and actively functioning Cathedral of Learning is part of The University of Pittsburgh, and a centerpiece of the city itself. A 42 story Gothic cathedral which towers over the city, it is as others have noted, a national monument, and understandably so. It...More

The neo-Gothic architecture of the cathedral is beautiful, but it’s the nationality rooms that are really fascinating. Having visited before in 2005, I appreciated revisiting old favorites and finding new rooms that have been added more recently. I was glad to see that there are...More

On first thought it may cross your mind that this is a religious place of worship. When you go inside and take a guided tour, you will be amazed to know it is a part of a functional university with each of the classes done...More

The Cathedral is only open until 4 PM because it is used for classrooms. Never dinners. Weekends the vending machines are available but the food court is not open for hot meals.
