Some of the birds are in enclosures and others are in rooms where they are flying around you. They have several "experience" attractions you can do for an extra fee. There were several teen volunteer guides who were very knowledgeable about the birds. Like all...More

Can't get enough of this place. They have revamped it and changed it around a little. Went to Beijing Zoo, they ought to visit here to see how birds are kept in a wonderful environment. Thanks to Julia, our wonderful guide. She has promised next time...More

Great place to visit if you are a bird fan. An hour and a half tops for this place. Lots of parking spots in front of the aviary. Minus one star for the cafeteria. Eat before you arrive. The cafeteria sits in the middle of...More

This Aviary is a small location with limited birds. We paid extra to feed & interact with two different birds. One was the Lorikeets.. we’ve done this elsewhere & spent a good 15 minutes with the birds & here was a maximum of 30 seconds....More

We were going to Pittsburgh anyway but this was definitely another reason to be there. All shapes and sizes are there. The penguins are definitely the stars of the show. You really get up close and personal. Be alert at all times because birds are...More

Think of this as a Zoo's bird exhibit on steroids. They have more species than you will find in the midwest region. There are plenty of interactive activities, like feed the birds. They do cost additional. There are discounts available if you are a zoo...More

We expected to quickly zip through here but ended up spending hours. It’s worth it to pay extra for the rooftop and amazon shows. The rooftop with the falcon was amazing. Speed was incredible. You read about it but experiencing it was something else. Staff...More

For a "national" aviary, I had hoped it was larger in scope. Many things were extra money. The butterflies were in a tent like enclosure which was very small. I would have liked to have more explanation of the workings of the aviary. Some videos...More

We stopped at the National Aviary one afternoon in July. We took lots of pictures and the staff was very friendly. I had gone there several years ago and I guess I was expecting a little more from the Aviary.

I have taken a large group through and you could do all of the exhibits in 2 hours. But you could stay longer if you take in one of the bird shows.
