What do you say about an aviary that hasn't already been said? We didn't go for any of the premium experiences with the birds or any shows, we just wanted to have the basic aviary experience. We were there for about 90 minutes and we...More

Upon arrival, we opted to pay a little extra to do the VR flying simulator, which was a “hoot”. Definitely not for anyone who experiences motion sickness, but it was super cool to experience flying. The rest of the museum was compact, but delightful. Loved...More

This was our second trip to the aviary while visiting Pittsburgh. They’ve changed the programming since last time so learned some new things and enjoyed seeing the sloth who was new since our last visit. The penguins were definitely the highlight for us!

I developed a New love of our feathered friends. Never expected to see so many different species. Some of the birds were very stoic and some were quite humerus. The staff was very knowledgeable and were more than happy to teach us interesting facts. On this...More

The aviary is lovely. There are many rooms considered sanctuaries for birds. You are one with many birds throughout the place. The outside area with the condors is unique. The educational programming is very good and engaging. The restaurant offers good options for all and...More

Had not been here in years. It’s still a great place to visit while in Pittsburgh. Eagles, penguins, flamingos - they have a wide variety in natural environments. Good place for kids.

I have taken a large group through and you could do all of the exhibits in 2 hours. But you could stay longer if you take in one of the bird shows.
