Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I have been going to this summer theater program for well over 10 years. Many of the plays are comedies. We haven't seen a dud yet. We enjoyed the play, "Harvey", this week. Actors are mostly professionals. Prices are very reasonable especially on opening nights or during the week. On the weekends they have students perform on the patio and serve hot dogs. We've never stayed because we have a long drive afterwards. If you check out their website and see one of the following names in the play -O'Leary, Cabot, or Hartman- , you just have to go. JUST HAVE TO! Saint Vincent Summer Theater is celebrating its 50th year of performances.

My grandson chose this college over others for two reasons. First, he wanted to play sports and they offered him an opportunity to do so even as a freshman. Now in his second year, he is getting the classes he needs as well as teaching staff that wants to work with students to maximize their understanding and competency. As the "kid" said, "I can get my four year degree in four years". All staff we encountered during this and a previous visit were friendly and seemed to want to answer our questions and give advice when queried.

We attended a funeral at the Saint Vincent Basilica. Even though a funeral is a very somber event, I couldn't stop myself from viewing the grander of this church. Wonderful stained glass with high arching ceilings and a presence that most churches do not have. If you are in the area and want to see a unique Basilica, this place is well worth the visit.

I am an alum so this is bias. The campus is wonderful, and the views looking east to the Chestnut Ridge are spectacular, particularly in the fall. The Basilica and Mary Mother of Wisdom Chapel provide sacred space to worship, pray, and meditate. Chuck Noll Field is a great place to watch Division III football and the Carey Center to watch basketball. The summer theater performances are well done and the cabaret after a pleasant experience.

The Steelers have their Summer Camp at St. Vincent every year.
Also, the basilica is open 24 hours, like in the old days, and a wonderful place to quiet down and pray.
Latrobe is also the home of the first banana split, the first air mail, Arnold Palmer and Mr. Roger's house and neighborhood.
Every summer we have the Airshow.
Next door is Idle Wilde, the best story book, small children's Amusement Park in the country, now with a Soak Zone.

The small town of Latrobe, Pa, 8,800, people, 2.2 square miles, has little to offer.

However, outside of Latrobe, in Unity Township, is St. Vincent College, Monastery, Seminary, and Parish.

The Bascillica, the church, is the most beautiful built-space in the Latrobe area. No other building rivals it in any way.

In July, the campus hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers for their 3 week summer training camp when 40,000 people flock to Latrobe to sit on the sloping grassy hills of the college to take in some pre season practices.

Summer theater programs and winter lecture series take place at the Liberal Arts campus, too.

I visited the beautiful church on campus the week before Easter. It felt very peaceful. I also visited the Mister Rogers museum and loved seeing the memorabilia. In past visits I have been to the grist mill, the cemetery, and of course Steelers camp. Saint Vincent has a wonderful campus!

We visited the observatory to see the Star of Bethlehem exhibit. Was interesting, enjoyable. Not necessarily worth the price of admission, but still enjoyable.
