This is a really good thing to see while you are in Lancaster Pennsylvania and especially if you are from here. James Buchanan might not have been the best president of the United States, but it is still worth seeing his home place. The guides...More

I am a history buff and especially enjoy learning about our US presidents. The Wheatland tour did not disappoint! It was an easy trip from Harrisburg taking about 45 minutes. Parking is ample. The grounds are beautiful and the home is in very good condition...More

Never knew this was out here. Tour guides dressed in period garb offered informative tours of Janes Buchanan’s house, life, and family history. It was interesting and beautifully maintained. Worth a stop if traveling in Lancaster area.

This isn't Monticello. It's surprisingly small (by the standards of a presidential home) about an hour long tour, though certainly worthwhile. They offer guided tours as well as ones "at your own pace" with a different guide in each room. Some of the guides were...More

Such a fun day. The home is filled with a lot of history. It’s a great way to learn a lot about one of our lesser known Presidents.
