Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The course was to close to an over flowing creek Stopped operating! Closed due to constant flooding! No longer in operation!

This course is worth the price of admission but not for beginners as it is hilly and long. Loved the challenge.

Monroe Valley is in a golf setting to dream of. The course during my playing days played well. With father in law leading the way-he could always locate his ball-to my son and daughter in law who drive up from Lancaster to participate in a pleasant setting and enjoyable, cost affordable round. Helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere a wonderful way to see Swatara Gap! & The Swattie.

For me what makes this golf course great is that it's nearby the summer camp I went to as a kid age 10-20. I meet up with old friends from those days to play. Friendly staff. Reasonably cost of cart and fees is only $30. Picturesque in a valley. More water than sand. I do love the par 3 on the 12th or 13th. I consistently get on the green over the water on one shot (lol). Seemed like more geese than usual this year. There's a kid sitting on his back yard at the 10th selling used golf balls if you need them. Small snack bar inside. Very small pro shop (I use the term lightly) doesn't carry much stuff so don't depend on it for anything other than golf balls, tees, gloves and a hat. Some clubs and bags available but small selection. Overall just a nice, stress free place to play.

My first time playing Monroe Valley. As a fairly new golfer, I don't know all the nuances of what makes a course challenging or easy. I can tell you what I experienced, though. The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. The greens are being worked on, so a lot of aeration was noticeable. I'd give them a C-. Right now they are a BYOB, but are planning to resubmit for their license to serve. At a $25 book rate with the cart, its certainly a fair price for a fair course.
