This was a Chinese mining area in the Goldrush times. In 1861 a large group of European miners attacked and beat the 1200 Chinese miners mercilessly and drove them out of Young. The garden is very beautiful tribute to the Chinese miners.

Lovely park close to the centre of town. Very picturesque and a pleasant loop walk around the gardens. Many families making good use of the grounds for a picnic. Easy parking and tables and chairs spaced around the park so no one would feel overcrowded
