Make reservations, as seats sell out quickly when there are events, and the leaves change colors. While this is no Durango, I would have to say that the train ride is pretty decent. You get to see the typical, mountainous views of the anthracite coal...More

We live in the Poconos and have never been to Jim Thorpe. Decided to take a trip and ride the train. I guess if you're not from the area, this would be something special. We switched sides on the return trip to see both views....More

A great narrative train ride with views of the gorge. Open air cars are part of the train which are a nice feature in good weather.

This was so very nice. Saw a lot of nature and some deer. Kids loved the view and was way more then expected. Very nice ride and get to see many pretty sites along the way.

This was a very nice attraction, but for the cost, I'm not sure it's one if their top attractions. It was cool to hear the history if you can hear it over the noise. Then, depending on which side you're sitting on, you mostly see...More

My wife and I were visiting the area on vacation and took the opportunity to ride the railway. It provides a view of the area with some beautiful scenery. There isn't much narration which was disappointing...maybe it depends on which car you are riding in....More

I ignored previous reviewer thinking they were just whinges. Turns out that these reviews were pretty much spot on. The trip unfortunately just travels along the old train route with too much shunting yards and trees. You can’t really see the river that well and...More

Wish I parked in the municipal lot for $5.00. Found a meter in front of station that I had to feed all day. Parking is #1 issue in Jim Thorpe
