Well worth a visit to understand the region. Very helpful guides full of information. A delightful place to explore.

This museum is only small, but the volunteers provided a lot of additional information on the local history. It is right in the town centre, and deserves the support and the admission fee.

Admittedly, I didn't go in as I didn't have the $5 cash at the time. The large museum at Bega was entrance by donation, so I guess I have been spoilt. Whilst I understand the costs involved with purchasing items for museums and the upkeep,...More

This was a very interesting place to visit for a half hour or more to see some history of the local area. Who knew this was a gold mining area? Lots of exhibits and things to read. Run by local volunteers, go and support them....More

Had a very enjoyable look around this museum. The museum is not very big but gives an insight of what old Merimbula and life there was like. Worth the time to go there and being at the top town easy to get to.

We visited the Museum, which on some days, it opens at 1.00pm. We had a most interesting chat with one of the volunteers, who was very informative about the history of Merimbula school and township.

What can I say…I decided to take some visitors to the museum during the Merimbula book festival particularly to see the autograph book and Mrs. McPherson displays. What a disappointment. The so-called autograph book exhibition was just a random collection of books, most of them...More
