This spot is definitely worth the drive a few minutes out of town. Met a lovely couple who had returned to Hay for a 55 year school reunion so got the added bonus of hearing a bit more about the local area and history.

As you head north out of Hay, you'll be amazed how flat it is and how little there is. Which makes this Viewing Area a brilliant spot to watch the sunset. Someone has built a little seating area, which would be nice if it's not...More
If you are in Hay, go for a drive and enjoy the nature has to offer.
It is approx. 16 km from town and there is 2 wired chairs & table for you to enjoy the sunset. No toilet facilities.

Thank you whoever provided the groovy tables and chairs for us to plonk ourselves, wine and bikkies down. We sat for an hour watching the most sensational sun dissolve into the Hay Plain in a never ending horizon.
