The usual building is closed for renovation so the visitor centre is in town now opposite the Cooee Soldier Statue. There’s a good selection of local crafts and postcards.

Very friendly staff and nice gifts to
purchase. Very interesting information about the Coo-ees, we learnt all the history about them. Really fascinating and we took
a lot of knowledge back with us. None of our friends in Sydney knew the background of the coo-ees.
We shared our knowledge we learnt in Gilgandra!

Run entirely by volunteers, the Centre has a lot of interest for a range of visitors. We went specially to see the Aboriginal collection, which is fascinating as are the fossils, minerals and seashells. There are also displays of local agricultural memorabilia and district history in a modern, airy building. There's also space for contemporary local arts and crafts and we were lucky enough to see an exhibition of quilts - fabulous. definitely worth a visit.

Staff are very friendly and you can buy local honey here as well as other products. The history of Coo-eee was very interesting, makes you realise how futile the propaganda of war affected communities, the loss and pain experienced by all. This is something which should not be forgotten. The display of Aboriginal artefacts was also very interesting

We discovered this place across from a motel where we used to stay years ago and were most impressed by the displays. We learnt a lot about a part of Australian history we did not really know anything about.

So pleased we stopped to visit. This is such an important place in our WW1 history. It is very well set up and the Coo-ee March Gallery is amazing. The Joy Trudgett Gallery has an excellent collection of Aboriginal artifacts and so much more. So worth a visit.

Delightful volunteer working the day we visited provided lots of tips for the area and beyond. Best selection of maps and brochures I’ve found anywhere in my recent travel. Well done Gilgandra! Extensive museum commemorating the Coo-ee March and a rather large art gallery too! A very pleasant surprise
