This is one of the loveliest ruins we have visited. The castle is located in the most beautiful setting and very atmospheric of a good past. The English heritage lady was informative and very friendly.

With a little bit more educational information provided without purchase of a guidebook, this place would be 5 *! The castle remains are excellent and well maintained. The grounds around are well kept. Very interesting for people who like history and a little greenery!

A ruins of a castle it maybe but on a summers day afternoon we spent a couple of hours looking around with our Granddaughter exploring and enjoyed the visit. Being that we are English Heritage member also helped.

Very interesting ruins of what was clearly a luxurious residence in its heyday. Super place to explore and picnic and later to walk the footpath past the Duchy of Cornwall’s Restormel Manor and on to the Nursery and Cafe. A great way to spend the...More

It would have been about £4 each but as we joined English Heritage that day, it was included in our membership fees.
