Green oasis
Jun 2019 • Solo
A lovely green, grassy, well kept park. Down sides, no parking and small but I enjoy walking here with my dog. The roads on two sides are quite busy but the traffic noise quickly disappears as you walk around this park. There is a trail around the park for children, places to sit, a play ground and fitness equipment. This park is kept very clean - I really love this park. It will be a sad loss if the planned road changes go ahead.

This is a lovely park that could be destroyed shortly if the council has it's way.

This is a lovely little park on the side of the main road (into/out of) Barnsley. It has different safe areas for children.

We walk our dog and play in the play area here on a daily basis. It always clean and tidy. It has a lovely pathway to follow.

this park is ideal for a picnic,or just to sit down, there is a play area for children, which is very safe,at the time i am reviewing this plans have been submitted for a road diversion to go through it,which will spoil it.

Disappearing
Oct 2018 • Family
This is lovely little park just outside Barnsley, it’s set right alongside a main road from the motorway into town, unfortunately if you don’t go soon, it appears you might never go, it seems it will soon disappear if rumours are correct, apparently a new road is planned to go through it, sad!

a brilliant place to relax in open space, meet other folk, enjoy an urban habitat for lots of different birds and bats

the park offers respite from the urban drudgery...also home to a variety of mature trees and bird/bat life, the sound of children playing and people walking their dogs compensates for the heavy road activity and growing housing volume

Gold Edged Penny Pie
Jun 2018 • Family
What a great little place to take the kids or dogs for a bit of fun. Well kept grassed park, edged by mature trees and bushes. Paths are safe and well maintained. A pleasure to walk in a council park that is cared for and clearly enjoyed and valued by the local residents.

Dog Walk
Sep 2017 • Solo
A lovely little park to walk a dog. There is now a tarmac path that runs around quite a bit of the park and so ideal even in wet weather. There is also a fantastic play area for children and some exercise equipment for adults. Only downside is that there is no parking if you are not local.

Environmental Area

Amazing! There is seating and a path in the middle of this park where you can sit and reflect on the day listening to nature. A gem in the middle of the town. Well worth a visit to unwind.

Strange name, nice park
Feb 2016 • Family
The park is a good area for a walk with the dog set just off the Dodworth Road cross roads on the main Barnsley/Manchester Road.
