On a clear day you are rewarded with extensive views over Bury and Manchester our to the Pennines and Cheshire. On a misty day you can almost walk past it without seeing the Tower. Check for opening times if you want to ascend to top,...More

The tower caps a great walk up Holcombe Hill with views out over the moors. It's one of the activities we often do with the kids when visiting friends and family in the area. It's suitable for most ages and abilities, and you can always...More

Well worth the walk to see the magnificent view over Manchester and the Lancashire countryside.Take good walking shoes and a waterproof, and park the car sensibly. A bottle of water is a necessity in the summer.

My little old dog loves this place. The walk isn't difficult even for an old Jack Russell. Choose a sunny day if possible but if not the mist in the valley can be beautiful.

The tower dominates the local landscape and from it there are great views. You can also use this for the starting point for some great walks - long or short

It is a steep walk up to the tower, not for the mobility impaired or faint hearted. Nothing to do at the top but the views are fabulous on a clear day.
