Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I had orchestra tickets to see Diana Krall. However, when we arrived and had the tickets scanned, the usher told us that we had to go up to the second floor to get to our seats. When we got to the second floor, that usher sent us up to the top balcony. Climbing all those stairs was very hard on my knees, plus my partner and I are both elderly and not used to walking up stairs. I couldn't understand how I ordered the wrong tickets. After we finally settled in, the very same usher who seated us came to us and said we were in the wrong seats, and we'd have to move! I showed her my tickets. They were in the orchestra section after all. So, we went down all those steps and finally got seated in the right section! I think the Hershey Theatre management should train their staff - particularly the ushers - to be more mindful and careful when checking tickets.

I saw KC and the Sunshine band last night. The band was absolutely amazing. The theater was gorgeous. The rules of the theater were ridiculous. I have a disco ball hat I love to wear to shows. I’ve worn it to theaters and venues all over the United States. From DC, to Seattle, to LA, to Miami, Denver, Dallas, and Moody Theater in Austin to see Kool and The Gang. Security always makes me take it off to check it as they should and that’s fine. Last night at Hershey Theater was the first time I was told I couldn’t wear it in to a show. I was going to see an iconic 50 year old disco/funk band and was so looking forward to wearing it and getting pictures in it. It’s a disco ball hat!!!! But I was told It was a weapon and they made me give it to security as we walked in to be locked in an office and wouldn’t be able to wear it until after the show when I left. I have been to venues all over the country and never had this happen. It’s a disco ball hat. It’s a fashion accessory. At most places its welcomed with open arms. It usually brings joy to everyone who sees it. But this theater said it was a weapon and I couldn’t creatively joyously express myself how I usually do and that was a total buzz kill. Be better Hershey. Other theaters everywhere are. I won’t return.

Everything about this venue soothes the soul.
We drive 2 hours to attend a concert at this location.
The ushers, ticket booth and any personnel here cater and offer great service.
The interior is breathtaking and well maintained!
Love it here!

Such great customer service!
The team here went above and beyond for me. When I dropped some freshly purchased merch through a hole in the pit, Mike and team went below the stage after the show to retrieve it for me! Absolutely made my night.

My daughter and I took my husband to the theater for Father's Day weekend. Our time was spoiled when we arrived and we were rudely told by a male security guard that our small purses (mine 12”x7”x5”, my daughter’s even smaller) were not allowed. There was no obvious notice of this policy ahead of time – I found it later on the website after some searching. Many others in the queue were as surprised as we were. We were told to lock our purses in our cars. We were just seated when I remembered that my car key was in my purse, meaning the car would not be locked. When my daughter tried to leave the theater to retrieve the key, she was again stopped by a rude male guard who told her she would not be allowed back in; however, she found another employee who promised she could return. If there is a good reason for this rule, we cannot figure it out. Also, it was not lost on us that we were watching “Six,” about female empowerment, while this policy adversely affected only females who often carry purses and enforced by impolite males. We live in Reading and have many other choices for live theater in our area – we will think twice before booking at Hershey again.

The shows are fabulous but they need to find a way to expand their restroom capacity. Two stalls are just unacceptable for the size of the venue. The lobby area is also very crowded with the merchandise and food area being close to the main doors. Beyond the restrooms, there seemed to be a storage area. It's a shame they can't rework that space. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I would give 0 starts if I could!
Went to see Hadestown a few days ago. The show was fantastic, but the theatre and staff are abysmal! I bought seats mid-theatre, because I don't have the best of eyesight even with prescription glasses and all the seats close up were gone already to pre-sales.
So, I get in the theatre and we sit down with plenty of time until the show starts. Just as the lights start to dim, a 6'4" wall of a man, with the head the size of a basketball, sits down in front of my partner. We have just enough time to switch seats with each other before the actors took the stage. I CAN'T SEE A THING! I spent the next hour and some trying to peer around his giant head to see anything. The seating is angled so flat that anyone taller than you will block your view.
At the break I ran to the bathroom, but the queue was so long that I didn't get out until the show was starting up again. I raced to my seat as the rest of the band started emerging. Once again, Unable to see a thing on stage other than the wings. It's a good job the acting and the show were amazing, otherwise I would have walked out.
After the show, I wait for the crowd to dissipate and went to find the manager. I received THE most snarky and unapologetic treatment I've ever had! To summarize; I was told that there was nothing they could do now, that I should have come to them to complain at the break (already missing half the show), and they would have moved us to vacant seats (the only vacant seats were at the back of the theatre or on the wings... NOT what we paid for!). So their solution was 'F&$% You!'.
I paid to see a show. I got to listen to it (I could have bought the album for that for a Helluva lot cheaper!) and neck ache from trying to bend my head around the guy's in front of me.
AVOID THIS THEATRE AT ALL COSTS! They don't care what you paid for and don't care if their venue screws you!

For some reason there are usually only balcony seats available which eliminates those of us with physical issues.

This theatre is an asset. Parking is adequate and adjacent. Prices are reasonable for the quality of events. Sight line down close are little tight when one would expect it to be better. Lobby is tight if you are waiting for the doors to open. But this is small stuff and a personal gripe. I'm looking forward to future showings.

If sitting in the lodge area is there a wall blocking your view? Do u sit low enough that the wall would block view partially? Are the balcony seats far enough away that the stage view would not be as good for the show?

The loge and balcony seats all offer good views. No walls blocking sight lines. As stated before, there is no elevator, so make certain you can do stairs for balcony seats.

Having taken my grandson to see Clifford and sitting in the orchestra and loge, he had a blast in the loge. There were many empty seats and it was like being on stage.

Yes - there are two shows. RENT and Brian Regan. We saw RENT when it was here a few years ago and it was well worth seeing. Get tickets early as they sell out quickly.

You should call to confirm, but I believe you have to have a ticket per person (not seat).
