This place is in the middle of a bad area. No parking except on the street. Bad neighborhood. Not worth the time to visit. Go to the State museum before you ever go here. Nothing to really see except 4th class artwork. Just watch yourself...More

My daughter and I stopped in on a very rainy afternoon. There were three exhibits at the time. The main gallery's exhibit (through 9/23/18) is Romare Bearden who, up until now, was unknown to me. It is very well curated displayed. I thoroughly enjoyed my...More

The Susquehanna Art Museum is a treasure. I joined SAM because I go every time I visit my parents in Harrisburg. SAM is an exhibiting Museum, not collecting, which means that every few months, there is a new marvelous show. Today we saw a gorgeous...More

We found many exciting venues on our first visit to the area. So impressed I am writing my first reviews. This one is about a venue our Innkeeper at our Bed & Breakfast suggested, The Susquehanna Art Museum. EXCELLENT, fresh, beautiful displays, well organized. Educational...More

A nice collection of ever changing art. Well kept building with friendly staff. I like that it is in an old bank building. I’m disappointed that within three years the membership fees have almost doubled. Too soon for such a jump in price for me.

I'm on a long road trip with my NARM membership (North American Reciprocal Museums pass -- which your local art museum might give you with a higher-level membership). When I found this museum on the NARM website, just off I-81, I decided to stop by...More

Sadly, this art museum is a disappointment. Roughly three years old, the museum has developed through a large state grant and various other funding sources. Located in an old bank, perhaps the most interesting aspect of the museum is the vault in which art may...More

I decided to take a day trip to the capital and came across this small museum on Google. It is an art museum focused primarily on local artists from Central Pennsylvania, the Susquehanna River Valley, and the Harrisburg metro area. That said, they also have...More

This Art Museum functions more like a gallery (in that the museum doesn't have a collection it owns), but the exhibited work isn't for sale. The exhibits are juried or curated by staff and board. We enjoyed seeing those that were up in late May...More

We spent about an hour in the Susquehanna Art Museum on an overnight visit to Harrisburg. There's no permanent collection so it's more "gallery" than "museum" which means your enjoyment of the museum could change depending on which couple of artists are currently exhibiting. It's...More
