About
Teddy Roosevelt declared that this Italian Renaissance-style building was “the handsomest building I ever saw”. Indeed, the State Capitol, with its vaulted dome and grand staircase and the murals and painted floors inside, is thing to behold.

Kids age 8, 11, 16 loved all the marble stairs, surprisingly they ran up and down the back hidden stairs.

If you are a capitol building enthusiast like myself, this one will catch your fancy! I was amazed at the color of this state capitol dome and that the renovation did not take away from the beauty. It is a must see in Harrisburg, PA!

We ended up very close by so decided to take a quick look. Great old building that is easy to see why they are so proud of it.
