Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you enjoy birdwatching, bring your zoom lens and binoculars. You may spot the blue heron here. Conveniently located off of Interstate 81, this park serves as a respite from the daily hustle-and-bustle. There are trails, picnicking area with tables and grills, boat launches, public restrooms, and more. The 3 parking lots were nicely designed. We will return again.

Took our grandkids out mainly to just go for a walk, but the boat rentals were open so got two paddle boats for an hour. It was a great time, seen a bunch of wildlife both aquatic and land. The girls that were working were very helpful. Was well worth the cost.

My husband and I visited Memorial Lake State Park for the first time this month and were pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's just a park, but we enjoyed spending about five hours here. One of the things we liked most was that things were spread out and you could have some privacy. There are three levels of parking. We checked them all out and settled on the upper level because there weren't as many people. We found a picnic table in a nice, grassy area, parked our chairs so we had a view of the pretty lake, and relaxed. There were other people nearby, walking the trail and cooking out, but they weren't close enough to be annoying. We didn't take advantage of it, but they offer boat & kayak rentals... paddle boats and row boats, I believe. There was also a bathroom right where we parked... typical park bathroom, but nice to have one close. There are bugs, so don't forget the spray! We will return in the future.

My husband and I love going here. It is small for a state park but there is a good amount of things to do. The main feature of this park is the Memorial Lake.

There are walking trails, a volleyball net, plenty of picnic tables and grills, fishing, and a boat launch. Bring your own boat or rent one at the general store. They have single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats!

The bathrooms are clean enough and there is plenty of parking. We love coming here to take a picnic and rent canoes.

My sister and I went back for an afternoon. Went for a walk in the paths. Sat beside the lake and just enjoyed the view. It is a very nice place for a picnic. walking on a trail. Or just sitting and enjoying the view. You can rent paddle boats or bring your own boat.

Lake built by the Army Corp of Engineers. Very good sized, very calm. Rent a paddle boat? Yup, they have it. Walk the trails? Yup, the trails are there. Lots to do, and friendly service. It's close to home for us. Great place to visit.

Memorial lake is nice if you just want a nice day fishing or hiking around the lake. It does have pavilions and canoe rentals. I wish it allowed motorized boats but the lake is a bit small for that. But all in all it is a nice park.
