Hours are limited. While it's a pretty place, we found the gates shut, facing the closed sign so prominently displayed in the photos. Even the grounds were closed.

I was surprised at the views from this area. The lighthouse made for pretty pictures. There is also a loop road that was spectacular to drive and stop at sites. So enjoyable.

A photographable and well-maintained structure at a place to have a beach walk as well as a visit to the gift shop. They do charge to climb up the lighthouse.

The lighthouse was open for business. Nice gift shop near the building. Great views out over the lake. The place is worth going to see just to drive the roads on the peninsula.

If you are at Presque Isle, this is a definite stop. You can tour the lighthouse, visit the gift shop, and dip your toes in Lake Erie from the beach area.

We stopped by on our way oot of the park. Wasn't going to pay a fee just to look inside the small lighthouse. Walked to the beach they had.

The technical answer is no. Everything on Presque Isle belongs to the state of Pennsylvania. However people are constantly coming to beaches for beach glass and stones and no one says anything
