A must do for anyone with an interest in FLW or architecture
This was our 3rd official FLW tour and it was excellent! Tour guide was knowledgable and really included the history of the family who commissioned the home which really added to the overall enjoyment of the tour. We got to walk back to the visitors center which was an added bonus. A must for any FLW or architecture enthusiast. The tour is only an hour but there is a gift shop, cafe, and option to walk back down and see art and a section of the Berlin wall. Plan to spend more than your hour tour here.

    Amazing experience!
LuAnn, our tour guide at Kentuck Knob, was fantastic! She expertly explained everything, answered questions with humor, and kept the tour engaging. Highly recommend her as a guide! We visited Kentuck Knob before going to Fallingwater and both places did not disappoint with their beauty!

    Didn't Disappoint!
Beautifully sited on a wooded hill, nestled in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania, Kentuck Knob did not disappoint. First FLW property toured as a tourist and was pleasantly pleased with seamless process from check-in to departure of grounds. Always enjoy a great story - and our docent didn't disappoint with countless facts and anecdotes of both FLW and the Hagen's who commissioned Kentuck Knob. The wooded grounds serve as a fabulous backdrop to FLS's vision, but also serves as a wonderful setting for Palumbo's private art collection that is scattered throughout. Plan to walk a short distance from parking lot to visitors center/gift shop where we checked in to receive shuttle timing which drove us to house. Don't forget to plan to grab a cone of yummy Hagen ice cream which was the perfect ending to a lovely afternoon.

    Don’t miss it
Hannah was our tour guide and although newer she did a great job answering our questions (although we are still laughing that she shut down the question about the window significance when asked at the beginning of tour “wait til we get to the bedroom for that”. The shuttle bus driver was also so warm and accommodating and drove us a second time up the hill so we could get a different photograph. Definitely a must see especially if also visiting Fallingwater in same vicinity.

Great trip, tour and awesome tour guide chris
My wife and I made a day trip to PA to visit Kentuck knob home for a 1:15 in depth tour of the home. Chris or Kris , im not sure how she spells it, was awesome on the tour mixing all the facts with snipits of story’s behind many things, the home and grounds are very well kept and after seeing Fallingwater this became our favorite and will return again. We believe these type of trips are made so much better with the right guide and she was it, thanks for a great trip, Ron Disch

Don't miss this Frank Lloyd Wright house!
Kentuck Knob is a lovely house and is beautifully preserved. Our tour guide LuAnn was very knowledgeable and thorough. It was raining and they had plenty of umbrellas available, which is nice as there is an option to walk back to the gift shop [or you can take the shuttle]. There is an overlook with a beautiful view and many sculptures and art pieces throughout the property.

Stunning architecture Beautiful setting Best guide ever-Hannah! Hannah was gracious, informed, and professional. We never felt rushed and were made comfortable asking any questions. Hannah was clearly experienced and offered many interesting and humorous details about interactions between FLW and the owners. Our visit was certainly more enjoyable because of Hannah.

Beautiful example of a Frank Loyd Wright Usonian House!
We basically stumbled on Kentuck Knob after visiting Fallingwater. Our love of all things related to Frank Lloyd Wright brought us to this place and so happy it did. An absolutely beautiful example of a FLW Usonian house set in a sprawling wooded forest that added to its beauty. Our guide LuAnn was incredibly knowledgeable about not only the house but also its owners history. Don’t miss this opportunity!

    Amazing FLLW home
Visited Fallingwaters before coming to Kentuck Knob. Our tour guide, Chris, was so knowledgeable and proud with so much history and details on this beautiful home. You could feel her love for her job and for the house.

Beyond wonderful FLW designed home near to Fallingwater, we did both in same day, great tour, friendly staff. Check in/gift and snack shop are close to parking lot. Shuttle drives you to the home for the tour which I recommend. No photos allowed inside due to home still privately owned but it was fine. The outside has art pieces around property. Shuttle driver Joseph has his own story to tell, make sure he shares. Enjoyed Kentuck Knob equally as I did Fallingwater. Wonderful and amazing properties.

We visited Kentuck Knob, and the nearby and more famous Fallingwater, recently. Of the two, we preferred Kentuck Knob. Great tour, Luann was so informative and engaging. The house is more "accessible" than Fallingwater, in that you could really envision yourself living there. It's beautiful, with so many little touches that were way ahead of their time for the 1950s. We did the in-depth tour, I highly recommend it. And don't forget to get some delicious local ice cream in the cafe!

We spent two days in this area and saw Polymath Park, Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. It was a terrific way to see different aspects of Frank Lloyd Wright's work. All are very different as far as their clients, cost and approach.

The Kentuck Knob was a little different, as someone actually lives in the house, at least parttime. It's a mix of museum and home, which made it interesting. The house is not nearly as elaborate as Fallingwater but is a few steps up from the simpler buildings at Polymath Park. Fun to see the comparison and talk with guides and other travelers and their opinions/observations.

Well worth it!

Beautiful architecture and site. Informative tour. Friendly and professional tour guide. I did the smaller version about 1 hour. Walked through the site back to the visitor center and was able to stop along the way and enjoy the many stunning sculptures. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Frank Lloyd Wright specifically, or fine architecture in general.

Gorgeous Frank Lloyd Wright house in pristine condition. Well run with pleasant and knowledgeable guides. Full of high-quality modern art and furnishings.

The basic tour is a reasonable $30 and is what I recommend. The In-depth tour (which doesn't show that much more) is $78--almost as much as Fallingwater, for a lot less--and CANNOT TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS INSIDE (which you can in Fallingwater).

Only a few minutes away from Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright aficionados will want to experience this beautiful house.

We had a fantastic experience on the in-depth tour of Kentuck Knob with guide LuAnn, who gave one of the best historic house tours I've ever been on (that says a lot given how often I visit such sites). The property and her discussion of it was stimulating and very interesting, and I would call this a "must-see" for folks visiting the area. Combines well with Fallingwater, and is complimentary...rather than a duplication.

This place was so cool- absolutely worth the hour and a half drive from Pittsburgh. Hanna was a wonderful tour guide (so kind and knowledgeable!) The house and grounds are beautiful, and will definitely inspire you to visit more FLW properties.

Kentuck Knob was a nice surprise as we were coming to the area to view the famous "Falling Water" home. What a unique property and story of the iconic FLW home at the top of the valley overlooking rolling countryside and trees. The gardens are wonderful and the path back to the visitor center was amazing as the art and nature trail back are part of the massive property. We were happy someone gave us this tip instead of taking the bus back. Easy path and lovely nature filled journey.

Tip: Ice Cream treat after the tour to get a taste of what made the original owners wealthy.

Our guide was informative and we were happy we did the extensive premium tour. Although we are not allowed to take photos indoors as the propery owners residence is private, the information and tour is wonderful as I was amazed at the story and history of this property as new to me.

As most FLW Projects, very distinct style and controversial site positioning. Fabulous setting. The site alone is worth the visit!
