Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small, Cozy, and Convenient describe this place. Good for beginners with a rope tow and fairly long downhill wrapping around the outside of the resort terrain to get back to the bottom and to the lift again. The lodge is small with two small places to get food. One downstairs has a good bar with some TVs to watch the games.

Rates are very reasonable. It can get pretty busy on perfect condition type days but generally you can grab a table and relax while the kids do their thing or just drive 20 mins down to Ligonier to walk the Diamond, stop at the Pie Shoppe or whatever.

We were there twice in January. Once pretty busy. Once during the rain we were practically the only people in the resort (just a few other small families).

So if you don't like the VERY crowded scene at some of the other resorts this side of PA, here you won't be shuttled from a parking lot two miles away in a bus to get to a lodge that you can hardly walk through. Even with the lodge was full, the mountain didn't feel crowded. This is our "go-to" place from Greensburg/Pittsburgh area.

It's a beautiful place with good slopes and cozy lodge. This has more the local and calming vibes as compared to the other ski resorts. Their lodge is sitting on top of the mountain that gives a very good view of the slopes. We travel more than 3 hours just to come here, that's how much we like this resort.

Laurel Mountain has done a great job this year. Despite many issues with their lift, and issues around covid they have provided a safe experience. On top of that the restaurant has slam dunk pretzel bites with beer cheese. Furthermore, they have kept the slopes beautiful and well groomed all season!

At seventy acres and served by a single lift, Laurel Mountain is one of the smaller resorts in the country. This place is small even by the relatively modest standards of western Pennsylvania. But this resort makes the most of its size, especially with regards to how surprisingly steep it is. All the runs are pretty long and there's enough variety to keep it interesting. Wildcat is legitimately steep and a great burner, and there are runs good for kids and other beginner/intermediate skiers too.

Another huge draw is just how chill this place is. Crowds are light and the staff is friendly. It is way less crowded than many of the other area resorts, and riders are far more respectful. You can also pull right up and park at the top of the lift, reminiscent of the beach at Arapahoe Basin. The mountain is inverted, which means that it's coldest around the lodge and parking area, but since the lots are set up right next to the mountain, it's trivial to haul to your car.

I've put in five days here (so far) this season and this is my absolute favorite hill within a few hours' drive.

The trails are with smooth snow and few people. The lift is convenient and has a good view.

I skied for the first time here, but unluckily some beginner trails are closed. Thank Tom for teaching and helping me a lot on my way down!

Living on Laurel Mountain has been a real blessing with this ski resort just down the road. My wife and I have logged over 700 hundred runs down the slopes this season. What an awesome season it has been, even with mild winter the people at Laurel Mountain have given us one of the best seasons so far. The snowmaking, the grooming, the service, wildcat lounge, I could go on and on. Sarah and Kaitlin, all the lift operators do a top notch job. Also a special thank you to the ski patrol watching out for us.10 STARS and a big thanks to everyone at Laurel.

After not getting a chance to ski the historic Laurel Mountain during it’s renaissance season last year, I skied the mountain twice this season! Both days were bluebird skies and Lower Wildcat was open - a very light crowd was on the mountain but the staff were friendly. And that’s the essence of this mountain - great vibe - all about the skiing - which I love! I skied here 15 years prior, which was the last time the mountain was open prior to the major capital investment - wow I was impressed! Can’t wait to visit again next season.

I went with low hopes because it is new and not well advertised. However, I was astounded! The lodge is clean, and high end. The staff was very friendly. The food prices were low and service was great! The slopes were long and steep which was amazing! I'll be back and I'll be bringing my friends and enjoying these slopes again!

While the terrain is more limited than other nearby resorts, the runs are long and just as challenging. The new lift was quick and comfortable. The lodge had nice indoor and outdoor spaces and the food was very good. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The setting is also beautiful with terrific views. In short, Laurel Mountain offers everything that other regional resorts offer on a smaller, family-friendly scale. Great reoboot by the Seven Springs management!

we took a day trip to laurel mountain on sunday with our two little boys, my niece and her fiancee and my newphew. we had such a good time. we always ski seven springs but wanted to get away from the crowds. we really enjoyed laurel mountain and we were all shocked at the steepness of lower wildcat slope. we all got to the bottom of the hill with smiles, even my seven-year-old son who didn't want to do it because "it's a two diamond," had a big smile on his face.

the food was very good, even though we waited for a bit for it, but well worth it.

we'd definitely take another day trip again to laurel mountain, and next time we'll bring more of our friends with us!
