More
Old Bedford Village is a living history museum located in historic Bedford, Pennsylvania. We have nearly 40 structures including authentic 18th and 19th century buildings, moved from original locations throughout our region, representing trade shops and residences. The Village also includes some present-day construction designed to replicate the buildings found in a 18th - 19th century Village. Visit the general store, apothecary, jail, blacksmith, tinsmith, candlemaking and woodworking shops, and much more! Special events are scheduled throughout the season, including living history encampments, Murder Mystery Evenings, and Candlelit Christmas. PLEASE NOTE: OLD BEDFORD VILLAGE IS OPEN DAILY EXCEPT FOR WEDNESDAYS FROM MEMORIAL DAY - LABOR DAY, AND THURSDAY - SUNDAY FROM LABOR DAY - OCTOBER 31. WE ARE ALSO OPEN THE FIRST TWO SATURDAYS OF DECEMBER FROM 5 PM - 9 PM FOR OUR CANDLELIT CHRISTMAS EVENT. Enjoyed the village and the lay out, we got rain out on Sunday but over all a nice location, even if we did share the wet camp site with the ducks.

This restored village near Bedford Springs is nicely done, with clearly marked signs in front of each structure, and an informative printed description of each place which was handed out as we entered the village. Though many of the trades places were not staffed, the...More

This was like traveling back in history. The authenticity was remarkable. It took several hours to see the entire village and talk to the other visitors. Met a wonderful couple of like minds while there and we ended up spending the night sharing a hotel...More

We thought it was a Christmas decorated small village with places to shop. It was not... it was a place to find out about how the settlers lived . It was dark and required flashlights since it was from a time before we had power......More

When staying at the Omni Bedford Springs, we visited this little village and had a delightful time stopping at many of the little shops. We were lucky to be visiting during the October Festival.

Enjoyed viewing the 40 buildings that made up the village. Some were simply displayed as homes, others contained period-dressed artisans demonstrating crafts and tools of the period. Appreciated the app that gave detailed information about each building. Easy to follow. We spent 2 hours at...More

Well worth the stop in this area. Even in the "off season" there where still a number of knowledgeable re-enactors that provided insight to early frontier life. The town consists of quite a few original buildings from nearby sites brought together with some replica buildings...More
