Our last stop for the day is Cape Meares Lighthouse. The road is closed just after the Lighthouse, so this is the end of Three Capes Scenic Loop. The lighthouse was built in 1889 and commissioned on January 1, 1890. The tower stands 38 feet...More

Nice drive and getaway on a hot weekend. Very nice overlook. The path is paved but some steep areas. More crowded than expected.

Today was a driving trip down the coast from Gearhart to Cape Meares with numerous stops along the way. Weather wasn’t the best as was mostly cloudy with some patches of fog rolling in from time to time but they quickly vanished once over land....More

Went for a quick day trip. Great views from different viewpoints. Easy walk to each near the lighthouse. Went towards closing time so parking was easy for us. You technically have to pay for parking.

What a beautiful lighthouse. We visited here on July 9th and really enjoyed it. We were able to walk up into the lighthouse. It is run by volunteers who were knowledgeable. There is a little gift shop inside where we did purchase a few things....More

It was a fun experience to see an actual lighthouse, they have some fun souvenir items also. The view is beautiful and the volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly.

This was underwhelming. It was a nice walk and chance to get out of the car. Lighthouse was short and very close but really not that much to see. I’m glad we didn’t make a drive to specifically get to this one.

Seeing the smallest lighthouse on the Oregon coast (only 38 feet) is interesting. Surroundings are pleasant with ocean waves, occasional sounds of sea lions and birds, and the huge rocks jutting out of the water. A bit of an incline back to parking lot. Nice...More

Absolutely stunning views. You might forget about the lighthouse, the vistas are so spectacular. The towns along the way were charming and the beaches beautiful.

What a fabulous place to visit. First, though, our gps took us via Bayocean Rd. (from Tillamook), which we found many signs indicating it was closed (we had to turn around). We found out when we got to the lighthouse that this route been closed...More

I'm not sure what times the area opens and closes. In the Winter months I would assume that it would be during daylight hours, probably 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. My wife and I went to Shore Acres State Park last weekend in the... More
