We come here to walk around in the spring and summer. We almost always see an eagle. Lots of squirrels and ducks too. The flowers are pretty and the paths are very well kept.

After visiting nearby Reed College, I walked through the garden. It was cold and spitting snow. Still there was lost interesting to see. Wood ducks, Rhododendron just breaking into bloom. Lenten Roses. There was only me and three other people. A magical time.

With the rhodies and other blooms in early spring, it is a wonderful wakeup from winter. Pleasant walk along the water and through the garden. Choose a nice day. Eat afterwards in Sellwood . . .

This place is a hidden gem. It takes my breath away every time, even during the off season when the rhododendrons are in bloom. The best time to go is when everything is blooming around mother's day. Seriously, this place is absolutely gorgeous!!

This place is beautiful any time of year, even when the rhododendrons aren't blooming. Great spot for bird watchers, with many breeds of ducks, green herons, bald eagles, etc.

It's a small garden but you can still easily spend a couple hours wandering the paths and enjoying the beauty. We always see eagles flying back and forth to their nests.

It gets busy but it's beautiful. Lots of people take family photos here. You can feed ducks but do not bring bread. Buy duck food. Please be quiet here. People are here to relax and enjoy the nature.

There is also no admission charged prior to 10AM, if you can get them there early enough, or after 6PM. The park itself is open dawn to dusk. So you still have an opportunity on Fridays.
