Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've been here twice now, once for downhill skiing and a second time for cross-country skiing. Although not as expansive as some of the bigger ski resorts, the quality of skiing here is high and so is the altitude. Snow conditions have been excellent both times we've been here, and the runs and trails haven't been crowded.

This is a great place to take family and friends. It’s not a big mountain but great snow and so affordable for families. There’s also cat skiing on the backside for the more adventurous.

I’m not really supposed to talk about Anthony. It only opens Thursday through Sunday. Had snowed all week including the Wednesday evening I arrived in North Powder. Thursday morning was bright and sunny. Thursday morning brought untracked powder from Hell to breakfast. The planets had aligned for the perfect ski day. By Friday the slopes were all tracked out so I did every loop on the Nordic circuit. Complete solitude, great exercise, and spectacular views. Seriously, this is what keeps me going.

Picturesque drive and setting, close-knit ski community that is welcoming, inexpensive lift ticket, basic food menu, virtually no cell service, one lift, & all of the possibilities!
This is one of my favorite places to ski. The vibe is so great, the people are friendly, and it is not trying to pose as something it is not. The ticket price is so reasonable it is well worth a three-four hour drive a few times each winter. The grooming is overall great and there are so many fun hits and awesome tree skiing in bounds. There are steeps and there are cliffs, there are mellow runs and intermediate. The snow (though it is out of anyone’s control) is generally awesome. And if you are into backcountry skiing and riding, the options are pretty fantastic.
People in your group don’t like lifts? They have some awesome nordic trails there to enjoy as well.
They have fun events throughout the year and a pretty dang honest snow report.
Just go check it out if you don’t require a Mt Hood or Mammoth type experience.

I had never heard of this resort until a hotel in the area offered discount lift tickets. My husband and I came up on New Year's Day to celebrate and we had a wonderful time.
The lodge is a bit small, but the mountain is phenomenal and the powder was so much fun to cut through. We will definitely return.

Finally made my first trip here after 24 years in Boise. Sure glad I did as Tony Lakes is way cool. Very much a hometown hill with little in the way of amenities but long on friendliness. Very picturesque with all the volcanic spires. Terrain has some fun features but vert is short. Enjoy the ride on the fixed grip chair. Didn’t see much for ski touring terrain from lift but maybe it’s there? Nordic trail system looked to be a winner. Would love to try the catski someday. Baker City is a funky cool town to overnight in.

Too expensive for such a dinky little hill --- only one short chairlift...and its SLOW, and seems to be almost always windy...freakin cold as it moves in slo mo. (and they are soo lame...for years have not put in a modern and cheap wind meter---so it often is frozen and reads 0 wind...when its really blasting, so don't trust the wind report. Because of slow lift, often lines at the only lift. Dark little bar...but ok.

It is clearly not up to the standards of ski resorts in California or Colorado, but decent for a short downhill. In the summer we found the campground crowded on a weekday. there was a good bit of trash around, but it is otherwise very scenic.

Fabulous snow. Terrific groomed runs on packed powder first day and fresh powder 2nd day. No lines end we were here day after Christmas and next day. Incredible price took me back 30+years. $35 full day lift ticket. 50% off coupon from closest motel (North Powder Motel) made it $17.50 for a full day of skiing. Will definitely make this an annual tradition. Love cute lodge and her at Anthony Lakes. Enjoyed staying close at clean , comfy, quaint North Powder Motel.

My friend and I came here from Friday to Sunday for XC skiing. They are only open and groomed on those days, so don't expect every day of the week grooming. The trails are well maintained and the two people who staff the Nordic lodge are very nice, friendly, and helpful. A Nordic day pass is $13 for the whole day and the atmosphere on the trails is wonderful! If you are staying in Baker City, it will take you approximately an hour's drive to get to the lodge. Parking is limited and we have yet to see it completely full when we have been there. They have nice and enjoyable trails that go around the lake and in the mountains the highest point on one of the trails for Nordic is 7400 ft. We ended up doing all the trails in the three days we were there and it was perfect! We will be coming back again!
