Overview

The Link River Trail runs 1.5 miles through the Link River Canyon, a scenic gorge located in the heart of Klamath Falls. The trail (actually a service road for power facilities on the river) is closed to vehicle traffic. Gravel surface. Excellent birding. South trailhead behind the Favell Museum on West Main. North trailhead is on Lakeshore Drive. See the modest falls for which town was named.

The trail isn't really anything special; it runs along the river and is less than 1.5 miles long, but there are many different types of birds to see. At each end of the trail there is a sign depicting birds and corresponding names. Make sure...More

It's a gravel path with a few off shoots down to the river. Some nice birds along the way. Easy walking. Klamath falls should probably be called klamath Rapids though.

This is not a 'trail' that goes through vegetation along the river. River can be viewed in spots. There are much better trail with views further uphill.

The day was beautiful when we visited Klamath Falls and there is a lot to do outside. There is a small parking lot but no bathroom facilities. The trail is a couple of miles long and follows the river. It’s all gravel but pretty even....More

We stopped here on our road trip to stretch our legs. Wide level gravel path with views of river. It was early yet in the season for spring birds but we did see a hummingbird nest. Not a lot of shade along this trail but...More

Walked along the river, and there was loads of wildlife, cormorants, pelicans, lots of different types of birds, so great for bird watching and even a snake, but expected to see more of the falls. You couldn't really get near on the track to see...More

Birdwatching Is an excuse for a walk. I do not refer to it as a hike because the trail is but a gravel road. Fun walk. Do carry water as it can get warm.

Good little 3-mile roundtrip walk from the museum to the falls. Trail is level and good condition. Dogs on leash, but reasonably dog friendly. We enjoyed the walk.

Yes, dogs are allowed on leash according to the sign. I let my dog have a long lead and he enjoyed the walk.
