We only had 1.5 hours to spend here but really enjoyed it. Some of the local people worked or volunteered there and added interesting info about several of the exhibits. I really enjoyed the old pictures of the town, logging industry history and the sewing...More

We stayed in Florence for a week, allowing time to take in local features such as the Pioneer Museum. The museum is only two blocks from the waterfront, and there is parking on-site. The fee for visitors is cheap enough to be not worth talking...More

There were three very knowledgeable docents there during our visit and they added a lot to our enjoyment of the collection. The labeling of the items could be improved, but I understand that they have a new manager there, so possibly that will be improved...More

We found this museum while walking around Florence. It was very well organized. Lot's of local history included. For a small museum we spent considerable time going through each room. The building itself has an amazing history. There is a model of a working saw...More

Housed in a 1905 schoolhouse, this is a small but worthwhile museum. Locals have donated family memorabilia, which makes it all feel more personal and relatable. Household goods, tools, furniture, farm equipment, and mariner memorabilia are lovingly displayed. Lots of books for purchase, plenty of...More

This museum was very interesting and informative. We did not expect to spend much time there but we were in, we could not leave very quickly. Had to look everything over.

While the place is small, it has two floors of displays. It is housed in an old school building that has a history of its own. The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the history of the surrounding area. For...More

The displays were arranged by type, such as marine, farming, sewing and lumber. The museum was small but had some excellent pieces. We enjoyed the replica sawmill. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. All were locals, some for generations. Worth the time.
