We parked at the beach and then hiked up to the keepers home and another 1/4 mile to the lighthouse. It was a beautiful and spectacular place overooking the ocean.

We found it easy to visit Heceta Head, one of our three favorite lighthouses along the Oregon coast. We parked in the decent sized parking lot and paid for parking at the kiosk which only took credit cards. The paved path to the lighthouse and...More

We took our usual trek to the Heceta Head Lighthouse. The view never lets us down. We enjoy the lighthouse and the history but the view is everything. We love the walk to the lighthouse too. Have your camera in hand to capture the waves...More

I loved seeing this lighthouse and there is also beach access. It is 5 dollars to park and is a half mile hike up the cliff to see it. Waiting at the lighthouse were state park volunteers waiting to answer any questions. It was accompanied...More

My honey and I always stop here when we travel and never get tired of doing so. It's a very well-maintained lighthouse, bridge, beach, road, facilities. We don't have this in California! The beach is small, cozy, scenic, sheltered, and while we were here recently...More

The entry to the lighthouse is free but the parking at the beach is $5. The weather was great and the views were stunning. Walk up the hill to the lighthouse. On the way pass the Assistant Lightkeeper's house and a small gift store. The...More

The views were perfectly Oregon coast. The bridge opposite shore is a perfect compliment to the natural beauty of the coastline. This is a great spot for a short walk or a short afternoon stay. The views are beautiful with the lighthouse, bridge, and rocky...More

We had a blast visiting this lighthouse! The views all around were immaculately gorgeous, but honestly my favorite part was stopping along the hike and reading up on the history of the lighthouse. They have a cute little gift shop and the old lighthouse keeper's...More

Yes, I believe the trail is always open. It is a fair hike up there. The trail isn't really steep, but it does ascend about 1/2 mile in a fairly short distance. The view is well worth it, though, if you can handle the... More

I would expect not but the views and sounds of the ocean should be enough to keep you engaged.
