I love the historical parts of this Butte. I love seeing the mansion, and the drive up, getting out for the views... and I love the park nearby as it has interesting playground equipment which is a rarity these days. There is a whale the kids can climb on and inside of... and it is painted pretty colors. I love the swings and the interesting little log cabin. The trails in the park were amazing to walk and our children used their scooters and skateboards for nice long sections. The river next to the park is of course gorgeous.

This beautiful park has it all! The path, historical markers, sculptures, and themed playground are outstanding! The only area that really needs improvement is the splash pad. One little sprinkler shouldn't be called a splash pad.

Good day hike for beginners. You walk through an interesting neighborhood, past cool shops and murals. Relatively easy trail. Beautiful house on site that you can tour for a nominal fee.

Only a few minutes from downtown Eugene, this mountain is well worth a visit. There are two trails leading from the parking lot, one half the distance (1.5 miles or 2.4 km) and steep and rocky and the other gradually rising around the mountain until you climb above timberline when you see all the little alpine plants. Elevation gain is around 800 feet (250 meters). Halfway up on the longer trail is a connector to a ridge trail which is worth seeing. We enjoyed the deep woods as well as the clear views at the top. The mountain is popular with locals, we have never seen visitors on it.
