Huge, fat and safe from fishermen Herman is not alone but has other river occupants to keep him company , his waterery enclosure does seem a bit small for a sturgeon of this magnitude but I guess after 50+ years he has his tank measured...More

Picnic area and gift shop. Plenty of parking. Easy walking. Check the Boneville Dam fish ladders while you're in the area.

Herman the Sturgeon is awesome. The whole visit to the fish hatchery was a lot more fun than we thought it would be. We spent about an hour here watching the big sturgeon and then feeding the rainbow trout.

While I believe the sturgeon viewing pond is part of the Bonneville Hatchery, it's a stop you won't want to miss. In fact, if you end up taking the exit for the Hatchery, plan to stay a few hours and tour the Bonneville Lock &...More

We went here when we were staying in the area for a few days. We saw people of all ages thoroughly enjoying this place. I would defiantly recommend going here.

What a great way to learn about this amazing species, and get up close and personal to one of the largest freshwater fish.
