Worth a stop. Many places with a name like this, you just don’t “get it.” You do here. I also heard a bit of folklore about a native princess who went to sea, explaining how the name was established.

Go here for the view, particularly early AM for whales and sunset for the color show. Stayxto meet and chat with the friendly locals who want to know what you are up to and tell you about their town. A great stop!

Be prepared for natures unleashing of unbelievable beauty. You can walk down wooden stairs to the expansive beach and take a walk along the shore. There is lots to see including huge rock formations and sea birds. Be sure to bring a camera.

Gorgeous lookout! Very accessible via Googlemaps, and there are stairs to the beach near the parking lot. (parking area/lookout area would be a great picnic spot). Note that it was windy and chilly even in late June so bring your layers/hat.

Loved watching the creation of circles in the sand. The rock formations were fun to explore and lots of sea life are viewable front and center.

What a beautiful beach. Must see for anyone on the Oregon coast. Try and go at low tide to explore tidal pools and caves. Stay for high tide to see the crashing waves. Best access point is face rock. Can then walk up and down...More

I've seen dogs and horses on the beach, and dogs at the viewpoint. I don't think there are any restrictions.
