Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was driving down SR Dash 124 and noticed the signage for this memorial. I turned around and went back to see why the memorial was created.
The signage throughout the memorial is well done. The grounds are neat and well-maintained.
This is a nice quiet place to imagine the battle that took place year as well as to stop for a picnic lunch.

This small wayside park, preserves a pre-Columbian mound and the site of the Battle of Buffington Island, in July 1863. It was here that Gen. John Hunt Morgan's raiders, attempted to cross the Ohio River at Buffington Bar or Island. Some of his command was overran by Union forces however several groups of 3-400 escaped to continue the fight on another day and another skirmish, all across southern, east central and north eastern Ohio, until his surrender on July 26th.

The park is part of the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail that winds through Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. The Ohio portion was formally dedicated on July 13, 2013.

Great and surprising free Ohio Civil War Battlefield park. The park has a bathroom facility and an preserved Indian mound worth taking a look at. Don't miss the road signs/markers north and west of town associated with Battle. Their is an ohio morgan's raid trail website that highlights the park and other associated sites. The park signs do a great job of telling the battle story. We paired it with a visit south to point pleasant's Mothman Museum and Tu-Endie-Wei State Park.

This is a small, but interesting stop to learn about the Civil War in Ohio. There is free parking, plenty of signage with tons of information, and a few memorials. It is not a large area, but seems quite for reflection, a picnic, or to walk around.

Full of history and even my Civil War loving husband learned something new here.
Only downfall is that it was smaller than I had thought.

We've stopped at this park several times. There is an Indian mound in addition to the Civil War sites. Interesting, out-of-the-way and quiet. Very pretty.

Quick stop during day trip. There is a nice shelter and restrooms. There is also lots of information about Civil War in the area. Not a lot to see but very nice stop.

Interesting history with several descriptive panels of content. Beautiful trees. Indian mound.

Pit toilets in beautiful building but too nasty of smell to go in.

this is one of the Ohio history sites. we had a bit of trouble finding it. Garmin took us to the wrong place but Google got us there. Quiet, place to picnic, info about the Civil War and an Adena burial mound

There is one nice mound near the Ohio river. There were battles here with good signs that tell the story. Usually there is no one around so I could walk up the mound's stairs and meditate with incense and a few seeds for offering
