Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some people prefer balcony seating for clear views, but seats are rather small and set on a steep incline, not a good choice for anyone with vertigo.
The theatre overs a wide variety of shows aimed at a range of age groups and music preferences. The People’s theatre, aka The Colony for old timers, is a great addition to a charming small town.

I am local, so a little biased, but this is the best place to see live entertainment within 80 miles. Well run, great acoustics, and very beautiful. A local bank put up a lot of money to renovate this historic theater and continues to support it. Most of the staff are proud volunteers from the community, and would love to tell you more about Marietta and the surrounding area.

This theater is fabulous! It has been completely redone and I don't think it has a bad seat in the place. The sound and seating is very good and the show featuring Kathy Mattea was exceptional! What a treat she was to watch. We travelled from Ontario Canada to see the show and I must say we will be returning. Thanks for your hospitality!

We've been to many shows, plays, concerts during during the first year PBT has opened. This venue is beautiful. All staff members and ushers are welcoming, friendly and helptul. Parking lots are nearby. Concessions both floors. Restrooms clean & easily accessible. Many residents of historic Marietta go to PBT to see top notch entertainment only seen before by traveling to Columbus. Seats, especially on the main level are roomy and comfortable. Visitors will find Marietta has plenty of fine hotels & restaurants. If one does not climb stairs, buy tickets for main floor only. No elevator to Mezzanine & balcony. levels. I love this theater. I already have tickets for 3 performances coming up in 2017.

Restoring this historic old theater (originally opened in 1919) was the long-term project of a dedicated community group. This was not accomplished on a shoestring - restoration standards were kept high and adequate funding was pursued. The results are spectacular. Key historic elements have been retained, including some items you will see very few places now - such as the old fire curtain (expertly restored and stabilized to modern standards) with painted scenery. We have been to a variety of events at Peoples (theatrical, musical, movies) and have found it very comfortable in seating and atmosphere. The size of the venue is wonderful (I think around 950 seats), and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Having opened about one year ago, the Peoples Bank Theater has been well received and brings a significant new performance venue to the region. As residents of Marietta we are grateful for the new cultural and entertainment options this facility is providing to our community, and we note that people are traveling substantial distances from surrounding areas to enjoy these offerings. It has also been reported that theater events have produced a notable uptick in traffic at local restaurants and businesses. That is really the perfect approach to an event at the theater - make a night of it with late afternoon shopping and dinner first (there are lots of great restaurant choices nearby).

Wow, Wes! Thanks so much for the kind words and great review. We take a lot of pride in the level of restoration and rehabilitation that were were able to accomplish in this historic theatre and are happy to have it noticed! And we're delighted to be able to offer residents of Marietta and the Mid-Ohio Valley a wide variety of entertainment options close to home. We can't agree more that making a night of it in downtown Marietta is really the way to go. There are so many great options for dinning and shopping in our historic downtown. We're so glad you've been able to join us in our opening year and look forward to seeing you again here in 2017.
