It is a bit of a up hike so return is easier. There are two walks and we did the top one. Saw a wallaby and echidna while walking up. The view into the gorge was breathtaking.

Take care due to fog if you are coming early in the morning. Walks are well defined and from the carpark you can take strollers and wheel chairs to the top section. Toilets and picnic areas although there are restrictions in these Covid times.

This is a fabulous place to visit. The rest area is full of picnic tables and plenty of shade under the trees. There are toilets, very clean and functional, and some terrific walking tracks. The views from the top viewing platform are absolutely amazing, quite breathtaking. We'd always known of the canyon but hadn't visited until recently and sometimes you realise you don't need to go far from home to experience Nature's wonders - certainly you don't need to go overseas. On our way up to the canyon we passed a beautiful old estate house that seems to be a B&B, with a sign on the gate saying that it was open for morning tea and lunch etc. We didn't stop but had a sandwich at the canyon picnic grounds, but that might be a lovely place to have lunch on the way.

Level Canyon is off the beaten track. Good roads - sealed. Just a little narrow and winding. However, that is a small price for the spectacular views. Just a beautiful part of the world. A must visit if you come to atasmania. Brilliant opportunity for photography!

Beautiful scenery, really quite unexpected. I was expecting something like the USA with just sand etc, but it was amazingly green. Quite and peaceful. There is a walk you can do to the bottom, but we never had time.
