Granite Island- fit for goats :)
Feb 2021
I know why this is called Goat Island because it's only fit for goats to walk on!!! All kidding aside, a few days earlier I had met a lady in the motel I was staying in... she was desperate to get to Goat Island but the tide was not in her favour. As I was driving past I realised that the tide was in my favour so I thought I would give it a shot.

This is no easy task to walk to... it's really rocky and uneven. BUT the views across to it are lovely... the sun was shimmering and the rock pools were interesting as I walked across. When I finally made it to the island... seriously it's really only fit for goats to walk on. :) The track onto it is narrow and you can go so far until you either run into blackberries ( that I had no desire to fight) or a hill that is made for a goat to climb. But I did see a young man scale that....so maybe if you are fit you can reach great heights too.

This experience is only as good as the individual that wants to be adventurous. It is a really interesting trek across to it but you need to step carefully and choose your time of day.

Visit at low tide

Had several visits over the last couple of weeks now that visiting the Parks and Reserves is allowed. There are several interesting spots for viewing Seastars, anemones, shells and birds.
