This was the first of several historic houses we visited on our Tasmania trip and we absolutely loved it. We had a wonderful guide who was very informative. The house is beautiful and they've worked so hard on it. See it while you can, because...More

We last visited Clarendon in 2001, so were looking forward to a return visit. Only open Thursday to Saturday due a lack of volunteers, the National Trust members nevertheless do a great job. The house is spectacular, with its columned portico- very Southern USA antebellum...More

Attended today and the home and grounds are brilliant - the National Trust has done an amazing job. Only 25 minutes from Launceston, via Evandale along some country roads has you at Clarendon. The home has been amazingly restored, and furnished with many furniture and...More

We visited today and had a wonderful visit to the homestead and garden areas. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Entry was $25 per adult and represented good value. Allow 1 to 2 hours and take a free tour.

This 'manor house' is described in some guide books as being akin to that which was pictured in 'Gone With the Wind'. It is a throwback to the age of country houses which dominated the countryside. There are good displays of furniture and (particularly) the...More

The house and grounds are lovely and the volunteers/staff are obviously passionate about the place. Your visit starts with a 10/15 min talk about the history and owners and then you can wander around yourself. It is great to be able to touch and sit...More

Clarendon is about 30 minutes outside of Launceston, it's a country estate and slowly being restored to its former grandeur. The rooms are well presented and you're encourage to interact with the pieces there, one of the upstairs rooms even has period clothes for those...More
