Wonderful scenery in the heart of Northumberland to drive through the full valley to Battle Ridge you need a £10 permit. But for walkers or cyclist you can go free. Parking at Hethpool. Wild life a plenty. Can be muddy in places so best to...More

Like everyone else - I don't really want you to find the College Valley! It was the Wednesday after Easter and though the air was cool, the solid grey sky became broken as we did a circular walk from Hethpool. There were probably 4 other...More

It is easily one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, snow capped hills, a lovely stream, wildlife, nature at its very best Spent five hours walking and only saw two other people.

If it's peace and quiet you're after this is the place. Visited as part of a group but apart from us I never saw another living sole. The scenery is breathtaking even on a rainy day. Take a picnic and soak up the peace!

We went to see if we could find the wild goats of Northumberland, a little disappointed as we didn't see any on our trek, until we returned to the car park and saw them at the top of the hills. But worth it after all....More
