While the actual lighthouse isn’t particularly noteworthy, the arched pier provides a very pleasant walk with super views of the estuary, the sea, and much of the town.

Well worth the effort to walk out along the pier wall to the lighthouse, there to view the estuary, and to look back at the old town. With luck you may see a seal and lots of seabirds feeding on the mud flats etc

Nice walk to the lighthouse, shame it can't be reopened as the views would be fantastic.Still had good views across the mouth of the river.

If you are on the Lowry trail then you will most likely visit the lighthouse. It’s easily viewable along the coast and below is a photograph from a boat trip.

This was a short walk to the lighthouse which was actually one of the Lowry paintings. The walk is not really that long and you can not enter the lighthouse.

The benefits being the fact you might see seals and dolphins ( when the tide is in of course) and it’s gentle exercise. I missed out on the dolphins but the rest of the family saw them. The evening I went to the lighthouse I...More

After walking along the Elizabethan walls we did an afternoon walk to the lighthouse. A very pleasant stroll whilst watching the tide come in.
