Have visited this castle ruin many times, in all kinds of weather and all seasons, with family as they have grown up over the years. Always a treat to visit. A great castle ruin in a lovely part of Northumberland to visit and photograph away...More

We took a short detour when we spotted the castle nestling down in the valley on our way from Alnwick to Rothbury. So glad we did! Not only was there the ruined castle but also a beautiful little church. The castle itself certainly defies gravity...More

A nice little church with nearby ruined castle. Limited parking on the approach road. Both free to explore. Castle tower is at a "jaunty" angle!

Visit the church fairly regularly as my mother & grandmother are buried there. The castle is only a couple of hundred yards away and has been well maintained by English Heritage. Took some American friends thee recently & they were very impressed with the location...More
