Immaculate gardens, lovely to walk around, the poison garden was very interesting, helpful and knowledgable staff on hand.

Although I'd looked at the castle website I didn't know the castle had a poison garden. We took the 20 minute tour and really enjoyed it. If you're planning on visiting the poison garden make sure you're covered up, or that you stay well away...More

The gardens are very pretty, the water feature is spectacular and the bamboo labyrinth was a very welcome bit of shade. Food was good.

What a lovely place to visit, this was my second visit to these gorgeous gardens and again it did not disappoint, the weather was superb and made all the difference. Beauty setting with lovely plants and water features, would certainly visit again.

I visited after a friend’s recommendation, and whilst I really enjoyed the walk around - and guided tour of the Poison Garden, I do think that it is over priced for families and that food etc is definitely over priced. Pros- beautiful setting, various areas...More

What can I say ..... I will be back! Came very early on (2002?) and this was the first time I'd been since - stunning! The poison garden tour is well worth going on, and most places are very accessible. Absolutely loved it - I...More

Very expensive day out. Just an imitation water theme park. Thought it would be a peaceful garden but full of unruly loud children. Very little “garden” to look round, but what there was were well kept. Poor value for money.

This was our first visit to the gardens, the planning and layout are beyond doubt first class, the number of features including the superb water features are stunning, price was reasonable, but joined the friends annual entry scheme when there and got the days rate...More

We visited here two years ago and absolutely loved it. I wanted to go back again this year. Was a little disappointed this time- especially as it is so expensive to get in - even for seniors. The cherry orchard and path up were looking...More

If you have young children then I would recommend separate trips to garden and castle. It’s a huge place to visit with so much to do. We were there all day and still didn’t get an opportunity to see it all.
