Very informative displays, lots of reading attached explaining the artefacts in detail. A great deal of effort has obviously been made with the Centre layout and displays, to excellent effect. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff, and we enjoyed our conversation with the volunteer on the current...More
Found this museum almost by accident as we were going somewhere else but noticed the signs. So pleased we did as it’s a very interesting place to visit made more so by the volunteer who was a wealth of information and shared it in a...More

What a wonderful place.
Run by volunteers, I had the door opened by a lovely gentleman (with an epic moustache!) who was a volunteer, asked us if we'd been there before (first visit), he explained the best way to view the museum and exhibits, and...More

No it is not a farm or a health centre!
Take care with parking on the grass especially if it has been wet for a while.
A free attraction that depends on your generosity to grow.
Well worth the visit. Nice staff on duty when...More
Lovely little museum run by really helpful enthusiasts. Grandkids loved it on Easter trail event. Lots of little interactive electronic gadgets to play with to keep the kids, and us, amused. Jolly good show chaps. Real shame they wont allow it on the base across...More
I visited the aviation centre with my 13 year old son. I was raised nearby so used to see and hear the Jet Provost aircraft all the time back in the day, so was looking forward to finding out a little more about them.
Had seen the signs off the A17 but had never been. Museum is in a small building on a farm. Inside was small but nicely laid out with many hands on exhibits. Currently there’s a temporary exhibition about airships at Cranwell and surrounding areas. All...More

We picked up a flyer in Stamford advertising an exhibition about Women in Aviation. Wow that sounds great. It was just some boards with info that you can read online.(Over hyped advertising I would suggest). The best bit was the really lovely and enthusiastic volunteer....More
This a small museum but packed with interesting exhibits. At the time of our visit there was a special exhibition on early women aviators. Lots of hands-on items too, including a landing simulator. I managed to land in a field! Free entry too!
